Valentino Fashion Show, Ready to Wear Collection Spring Summer 2017 in Paris
Well… that was something !!! Lovers, this is the first collection sans Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli was flying solo here, and I’m thinking a few things right now, and I haven’t said if I loved this collection or not, because even when I’m sure about my answer, I want to say a few things first…
Ever since Pierpaolo and Maria Grazia took the helm from Valentino, I’ve been obsessed with the brand, I mean, I was a big fan before and I though it was amazing, but when they took over the creative direction, I fell in love more and more, I still remember some of their collections like if they had been shown only yesterday, and I will remember the collection they showed in Rome forever, because it has been one of my fav of all time…
I’ve been in love with Valentino for a long time, is what I’m trying to say, and this collection felt different of course, because MGC was not behind it, and probably because we didn’t saw them as partners, we used to think about them as one, or at least I used to, but in fact, it were two minds trying to create a single collection was it worked fantastic, but now that they took different ways we feel like there is somethign missing at Valentino..
But I have to say that even when I think Maria Grazia’s touch was missing, it was a wonderful collection, for me, it was more strong, and less soft, I don’t know how to describe it, but I think Pierpaolo had this strong concept and Maria Grazia had a more subtle style, or something like that… the point here is that this collection was different, but not bad, it was far from being bad, it was great, I loved the details, the colours that were amazing, and the perfect tailoring as usual… I think the combination of fabrics was on point as usual and I would like to see more
It was fantastic, and I think it’s time to see more from Pierpaolo, this is his entire collection and I think it was a blast !!! I loved Valentino and I will keep loving it, as long as I see collections like this !!!
